Bible
Do you dust off your Bible yet? Buy a new one? What version are you using? How long have you had it? Do you need to borrow one? ARE you ready?
I am! I am using my first Bible. It is a black with white stitching NIV Life Application Bible. It is already falling apart. I guess they don’t make them like they used to. I got it about 3 years ago. Bet Cox made me buy one. I gasped at the price. Since then I think I own stock in Lifeway! But I bought the one that matched my purse at the time. It was a black coach with white stitching….remember those. Since then it has taken a nice beating. It has some crayon pages, some ripped, some creased…but more importantly some read! I love that Bible and I hope to have it forever. Since then, I have been given a Holman from Rachel, a NASB for Kay Arthers Ministry, a NKJV from Beth, a NIV study from my sister….but my original is pretty special…I didn’t know what it was when I got it or how it would change my life.
If you have a minute tell me about the Bible you are going to use for this assignment…version, how long you have had….etc.

Hi, it’s me again. I’m having one of those, ‘can’t seem to get out of the house’ days. Even though it’s sun shining and beautiful outside. I’m like an old bear, who hibernates in the winter…:)
My favorite bible is the KJV Bible I’ve had since 1990. It’s like yours, in that it is bearly holding together and there is bearly room in the margins for any sugnificant comments.
However, during this study I plan to use the Holman Christian Standard Bible that I have had for about 5 years. I’m looking forward to covering it with notes from the Lord to help me travel this next year. I’m believing 2009, will be a turning point in my life, and that this road will lead me to a deeper understanding of what God has in store for me in His work. But, more importantly, I’m pledging myself to a deeper and closer understanding of Who my Father is.
I have several Bibles too. I like to see the difference in the language between several at one time. I don’t want to miss anything. Some versions hit me better than others. I have a King James Version that my dad gave me (about 25 years old), the NIV Study Bible and an NASB Life Application Bible. I may just buy a new one to write all my comments and notes on for this great adventure. To date, I haven’t really been a “write in your Bible” type person. I wonder if I will like that? …
I have a NIV sdie by side with KJ that I will have on hand but I will use my New Living Translation…..someone suggested it because of the languge…and I need it to be pretty basic :-) I am planning on marking things that speak to me and making notes in my Bible and having a journal along side that. I am so excited to see what God has to show me and am so thankful you followed His lead in doing this ministry! It is one of my goals every year but never before have I thought about it sooooo much before!
